I can hardly download any vediofile here due to the slow net speed.I want to do something, but there seems no way for me
Putting the available files in 2 p2p sharing way sounds like a better idea----but I am not sure whether it works for me or not.Anyway I am looking forward to doing sth for this site, and keep stoping here from time to time.....

Update to eMule:- Since I wrote several people have become active in eMule, both as downloaders and uploaders. Already I have serviced 303 Meg of requests.
Please, downloaders, leave the files that you download as shared as a community service, because the more people who are sharing then the easier and quicker it will be for anybody new to obtain the files, and the burden of sharing will be spread out thinly.
Good work, everybody.
From Patrick Sweetman [202.74.217.165] - 10/5/05 12:16 AM
You are correct. With a dedicated site such as this you have to be very careful about licensing, and I cannot advise on the status of those sites that I mentioned.
As for bittorrent, it has the disadvantage of requiring a central site in which to publish your seeds. The advantage is that it is fast and easy for the downloader.
eMule has the advantage that it is fully decentralised and the material will always be available as long as at least one person is sharing. I have put some of the lectures onto the eMule network, but so far nobody has requested any of them, and I can see that I'm the only one sharing this material at the moment.

Thank you Patrick:
The BitTorrent is a good idea, we are digging into the possibilities. But how to maintain a number of seed is the problem, I guess we need to reach more volunteer Bit Seeders.
And, what's the licence stuation of the more video you provided? We can this MIT OCW video is because it's under CC licence. If not, we may not have the rights to do it.(Even we have the good will and the abilities) OOPSer are talking about Berkeley's webcast transcribtion, but since it's a All Rights reserved licence, I think we need to found a way of it.....
If you have any idea or connection, just tell us...:>
From Patrick Sweetman [202.74.209.211] - 9/27/05 5:58 PM
This very worthy project would be greatly helped if the vidios were available from more than one site. Maybe somebody could set up a central mirror. Making them available via P2P such as Bittorrent and eMule would be even more useful.
I have downloaded the Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and Introduction to Biology and am willing to burn them to DVD-ROM for any genuine contributors to this project. I hope to download more in future when my ISP stops complaining about too much traffic.
There are a couple of other video lecture series in mprg and avi form to be found on the internet. Here are the URLs for some...

well i have adopted Anthropology of Religion, but i can't download the video clip! the FAQ you provided only mentions how to download rm files in MIT, seems no use for wmv files in Utah?
